When I worked for St. Giles Church, our work started to gain real recognition for the impact we were making. We were based at University Hospital in Coventry, where we supported individuals admitted with serious injuries. Anyone who came in under those circumstances was referred to us. Our role was to step in, have honest conversations, and see how we could help whether it was supporting them to safely exit gangs or navigating the challenges and potential repercussions that might follow their situation. Some of our best and most meaningful work happened there. Looking back, I realise this was the point where something shifted inside me the moment I truly understood that this was what I wanted to dedicate my life to. It planted the seed for We’re Hear For You and my journey to create lasting change.
